Looking for Thanksgiving decor ideas that both are festive and stylish?
Great!
You’re in the right spot.
My husband jokes with me and laughs every time I open a new tote of holiday decor.
Why do you put all of that stuff out just to take it down later?
I laugh because you’ve got to admit, he does have a point!
But it got me thinking…why do I bother? I know a lot of people don’t, but I always like to!
For me, decorating for the seasons is one of the many ways we can bring attention to the season, and what it represents.
It creates visual reminders of what we’re celebrating and why.
Adding decor helps set the season apart, and distinguish it from the every day.
Decorating for Thanksgiving helps keep it from being forgotten between the loads of Halloween candy and Christmas displays that we see in the stores.
Thankfulness doesn’t come naturally to most of us. It’s way more natural to forget the wonderful things we have and focus all of our energy on the trails we’re facing.
It takes some intentionality and reminders to be Thankful. But I think it’s well worth it!
A thankful heart is a happy heart.
If that’s not a reason to decorate, celebrate, and eat a bunch of turkey then I don’t know what is! 😉
