Home organization…where do you start?! 😛 If you’ve let things go for a while, it can be hard to know.
Mountains of miscellaneous items on the counter, who knows what under the couch, and let’s not even talk about the closets.
I know, it happens to the best of us!
Not to worry my friends. With a little intentionality, and some mental and physical decluttering you will soon be doing the tidy home happy dance.
We’re going to go through the many clutter collecting places in your home, and find solutions about what to do with them.
I came across a great quote on a home blog the other day…
It’s not always easy to let stuff go of your stuff. Before you lift a finger sorting and organizing, first do a little mental checklist.
- Set a reasonable goal of what you want to accomplish
- Give yourself permission to discard items that are no longer useful or beautiful
- Consider the costs of living in clutter
It’s hard to think and function in the middle of a mess. Living in a cluttered home affects you in ways you might not realize.
It costs you time searching for misplaced items.
It keeps you isolated as you’re embarrassed for someone to come over.
It stresses you out as when you are surrounded by disorder.
Lost time, isolation, embarrassment, and stress? NO THANKS!
After you’ve mentally mapped out a game plan, it’s time to kick into action! You will feel SO much better after you do.
There is only stress free accomplishment and satisfaction ahead. Let’s get to it!
Home Organization Tip #1: Create A Command Center
Organizing and removing paper clutter is a perfect place to start!
If you don’t all ready have a small filing system, consider buying one so you can keep important documents, and shred the rest.

Home Organization Hack #5) Living Space Round Up
Clutter attracts more clutter! Time to grab an empty laundry basket, and start gathering it up.
Fill your basket with everything causing visual noise.
Once you have gathered it all up, start the sorting process. Ask yourself is this useful, beautiful, or special to someone in your family?
Decide whether to toss, donate or store.
If the item is worth keeping but doesn’t have a home somewhere, create an organized space for it!
