Hi there! If you’re looking for farmhouse flower bed ideas for in front of your house, patios and porches you are in the right place!
Below you will find my low maintenance perennial flower beds and potted annual arrangements that are both easy and gorgeous.
I picked simple flower color schemes for the front and back, that would compliment our farmhouse exterior.
You’ll find bright greens and dark purples, as well as vibrant orange and pink perennials.
These look incredible when surrounded by modern boxwoods and evergreen shrubs.
I hope you can find some designs ideas to replicate in your home and outdoor spaces.
Let’s get to it!

Farmhouse Flower Beds For In Front Of The House
These beautiful (and almost NO MAINTENANCE) perennial flowers regrow every year.
Beyond a little watering (hello drip system), they are about as easy as it gets.
The bright orange and yellow are tiger lilies, mixed with vibrant skyward pink flowers.
These perennial flowers are hearty and have long blooms, I cut them to the ground every year at the end of the growing season and wait for them to regrow each summer.
They seem to surprise me every year with larger size and fuller blossoms!
Behind the perennial flowers are boxwood shrubs and creeping evergreen juniper bushes.
These shrubs maintain a dark green color through the colder winter months when the flowers are dormant.
Both of these flower varieties attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
I love a little farmhouse front porch sittin’ while watching the bees and birds fly by!
Farmhouse Flower Arrangements For Porches & Patios
Around the back of the house you’ll find farmhouse flower pots galore that perfect for any patio or front porch.
I chose to keep it simple with dark purple petunias that mound and blossom alongside bright green creeping jenny vines that trail and spill over plant containers.
I just love this bright green and dark purple combination for a modern farmhouse look.
Farmhouse Flower Pots For Your Patio
When it comes to picking flower pots for your farmhouse flowers, don’t overthink it!
Simple colors, dark browns, tin or black always look great!
Farmhouse Flower Arrangements
When it comes to colors, I like to keep it consistent for farmhouse flower pots and arrangements that are placed close together.
As a general rule of thumb, I try to follow the height/fill/spill planting method.
Pick a flower or grass spike that is tall, filler flowers around, and a creeping vine that will spill over the edge of the flower pot.
The results are always stunning!
I also love these hanging flower boxes that I made by up cycling some cheap Hobby Lobby decor and ordering small planter boxes to fit.
They coordinate with other potted patio plants and work well to cover large wall space on the back porch exterior.
Fountain Flower Bed Landscaping Ideas
We decided to keep the purple and green combination going with rock gardens and beds around the yard.
Along the fountain these creeping juniper bushes and small flowering purple bells are happy and growing away!
Not every element of farmhouse flower arrangements need to match, feel free to mix up pots and flower combinations to fit your style!
I included tin elements, blacks, and dark browns in various combinations for a modern farmhouse feel.
Perfectly Potted Farmhouse Flower Pot
I especially love this smaller side table farmhouse flower arrangement.
It is the perfect height/fill/spill combination and the mixed metal watering can is an old favorite (even with a broken handle)! 😉
I hope you enjoyed this farmhouse flower tour!
You’ll never regret adding style and beautiful flowers around your home’s exterior.
