I wasn’t sure how to actually attach plates to the wall, so I did some research and found a great product that was really easy to use.
The other great thing I love about hanging plates wall decor is that they are completely customizable!
You pick the plate pattern, color, arrangement design style and more (more pics and inspiration below btw).
This tutorial will highlight a super easy way to install and create your design, whatever that may be.

Dining Room Hanging Plates Wall Decor Idea
Simple, muted, modern farmhouse is the vibe in our dining room.
So for this space, I wanted something clean and simple.
These slightly off white oval serving platters were perfect!
The center platter I all ready had in my collection (and rarely used).
The others I snagged from a bargain store clearance rack! Woop Woop
Now, how does one go about getting these neatly and discretely displayed on the wall?…
Hanging Plates Wall Decor Adhesive Disk
I started by doing some research on hanging plate fasteners on Amazon.
There are a wide variety of brackets, fasteners and display racks which didn’t really fit what I was after.
I wanted something that was discrete and was easy to install.
So, I was thrilled when I landed on these invisible plate hangers!
No brackets or hooks are visible anywhere.
How To Use Invisible Plate Hangers
These are the easiest thing ever!
Simply wet the back of the disk with a damp finger to activate the glue adhesive.
You will then firmly press the disk onto a clean dry plate back.
I let my plates sit overnight just to be sure the adhesive was firmly attached.
After passing a quick tug test the next morning they were ready to hang!

Everyone’s hanging plate wall decor design will look different.
To land on what I wanted to create, I browsed a number of images on Pinterest.
I also started to lay out the plates I had and shuffle/rearrange them on my counter.

Again, our dining room is a neutral farmhouse theme so I decided white would be best for this space!

Installing this design was so easy my toddler could do it! HAHA
He loves any reason to pound a nail!
So I simply eye balled the plate arrangement, made a pencil mark at my plate hanger, and measured equal distance to create my design.
Of course there was a little eye balling involved! 😉

I’m so happy with how it turned out!
I really like the movement this asymmetrical design creates.
Now I’m off to search for the perfect modern farmhouse dining room sign to complete the room.
