Peanut Butter Cheerio Bar Recipe Run Down
These peanut butter cheerio bars have that chocolatey peanut butter flavor and incredible crunch that you’ve been craving!
The other awesome part about these is that whip up in almost no time at all!
A quick stove top recipe with ingredients you likely already have in your pantry.
First of all, start with an extra large pan!
You’ll need one big enough to hold an entire box of cereal and then some.
I like to use my large stir fry Wok as it allows for plenty of room for mixing and stirring.
Begin by melting butter and marshmallows over medium heat.
This process will take a couple of minutes with continuous stirring.
Don’t worry, this is as hard as it gets. 😉
When mixture is smooth and marshmallows melted, stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract.
You’ll want to make sure this is evenly mixed, and remove the mixture from stovetop heat.
Promptly add honey nut cheerios before marshmallows begin to cool!
You will gently fold in the cheerios to the melted marshmallow mixture until well combined.
A fold and turn method seems to work better than stirring!
When the cheerios are evenly coated, sprinkle in M&M candies and gently fold until just combined.
Try not to over mix as M&Ms will begin to melt.
You will need to mix gently and work quick to prevent the mixture from cooling before pressing into the pan.
Make sure that your sheet pan is well oiled and gently press the bars into an even layer on your largest sheet pan.
I think an 11×17 works perfectly, but you can put them in a smaller pan as well if you don’t mind a thicker cheerio bar.
Don’t worry if a few M&Ms melt and crack, they will still be delicious! 🙂
When bars have cooled and set (usually just 10-15 minutes) you can slice and serve as desired!
I usually store left overs in the fridge, but they don’t last long.
Cheers for now my friends!
